hope to be traveling there in july with 8 grandchilren and their mothers we need to find an efficient and economical place to stay. where we could make our own breadfast and lunch. budget would be greatly stretched with 8 teens to eat out every meal. would also like hints on dining out. on the beach is a MUST.

Look at www.vrbo.com and get a large (3 BR) condo or two condos. They are much cheaper as you have fully equipped kitchens and don%26#39;t get hit with a bunch of unexpected charges like you do in a hotel. There are lots of beachfront condos in this area with nice, big beachfront balconies, especially if you%26#39;re willing to go a little north into Madeira Beach, Redington Beach, Indian Shores, etc.

Madeira Beach is really nice - big beach, nice quality sand. And it isn%26#39;t really all that far north. Does have a lot of condos.
