Suggestions for smallish boys

My husband and I are coming over at the beginning of April with our two boys aged 6 and 7. We%26#39;ll mainly be visiting with family, but can anyone suggest parks, playgrounds, beaches or activities to pass an afternoon when we need to give our relatives a break? Also, could anyone advise what sort of weather to expect in early April. Thank you.

April weather is beautiful! Bring shorts and a light jacket. The days warm up enough to be at the beach and the nights are cool. There is a local YMCA with lots of programs, it is called the YMCA of the Treasure Coast or Martin County YMCA for kids activities. One of the best beaches with a restroom and activities is Bathtub Beach (aka Bathtub Reef Park) at the south end of Hutchison Island (part of Stuart). The reef makes a wading pool by the beach which is good for kids so the riptides don%26#39;t surprise them. On the island is a road called A1A and it runs the length...off this roadway are lots and lots of public beaches that all have good qualities. Have a great time!

This is too late for these folks, but there is a great mini-golf adventure center out on Route 76 (Kanner Hwy.) as you head out to I-95. We have never been there, but always see families with kids having great time there. If you go at dusk would advise wearing mosquito repellent

We just got back and can confirm that all these suggestions are wonderful (we missed the mini golf place, but my teenage cousins did recommend it while we were there). The environmental studies place in Jensen Beach was great for seeing local marine life up close. For good authentic american deli-style food and wonderful cheesecake go to Toojays in Regency Sqaure on the corner of US1 and Monterey. Right, I%26#39;m off to tackle ten loads of holiday laundry...
