us car hire

Hi everyone...we are going to orlando in 2 weeks (cant wait) we are taking my 20 year old son and his girlfriend with us, and have hired a 7 seater van for the duration - son is paying an extra $20 a day to drive. Question is we have arranged hire thru US rentacar, apparently they are not on site (in sanford) you ring them from the arrivals hall and they send a courtesy car to pick you up to take you to their office , about 10mins off site, they say. Has anyone used them?

I don%26#39;t know about this car rental in particular. What I can tell you is that many car rentals in the area keep a sort of ';grace period'; for a second driver and the extra rate will only apply if a certain number of days is exceeded. Perhaps you should ask your company about this condition which might save you some money.

Contact USRentacar and ask for a %26#39;fast track%26#39;. This is where they arrange for you to collect your car from the Avis desk which is on site at Sanford.

We are flying into Sanford too- what other car hire co%26#39;s are on site apart from Avis?

Sanford has all the big names , Dollar, Avis etc. Not sure which are off site but Dollar is on site.

Don%26#39;t USrentacar use a voucher system ? We use UScarhire as you get a voucher for Dollar and go straight to their desk.

hi ads - yes we have the voucher but it says the Van is to be picked up off terminal. We know our son has to pay an extra $20 a day for insurance purposes, he is 20. This is payable at the time of pick up. Dont know if this has anything to do with it. Am still awaiting a reply to my e mail to them...

So what company are usrentacar using ? Avis?

hi ads - just had a really good look thru all the info and pre -paid vouchers from them - it doesnt mention anywhere who the supplier is - we didnt have all this with them last time we went. Thats why i thought it may have something to do with a young driver. But i guess it doesnt matter who you pay for the under age driver supplement. I suppose it will mean a long telephone call to them....will give them a day or so to answer my email...one lives in hope!!!!

Used them twice, once was dollar and second was alamo. both these companies are on site at sanford. they also do cars thru budget and u-save. is sounds like yours is budget, the website says budget is meet and great and u-save is a bus. just give them a bell
