Restaurant reservations

If I make a reservation on telephone do I have to give a credit card number?

If I cannot for any reason then make the reservation can I change it? How?

What would happen if I simply did not turn up for reservation? Would any charge be made against my credit card?

Whats to stop people making loads of reservations just to cover themselves then deciding on the day which one to take up?

Restaurant reservations

Are you referring to Disney Dining reservations?

Only certain venues of Disney Dining require any kind of credit card deposit; most do not.

To cancel, you simply call the dining reservation number, or drop by a service desk at one of the Disney resorts or theme parks.

If you wanted to call and make different reservations, there%26#39;s really nothing that could stop you, I don%26#39;t guess.

Restaurant reservations

yes - sorry. I am referring to dining reservations.

There are a few restaurants on Disney property that do require a credit card to book a reservation. There is typically a 48 hour cancellation policy, so if you cancel more than 48 hours before your reservation, your card is not charged. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, or are a no show, your card would be charged a penalty. Last time I booked a reservation of this type, the penalty was $10 per person. This would include some of the character meals and dinner shows. You will be advised before the reservation is made that a credit card will be required.

As far as making multiple reservations, you could do that, but you would have to make multiple phone calls to do so. The reps on the phone won%26#39;t make more than one reservation during the same call for the same day and time. Would you really want to keep track of all the confirmation numbers, and which number went with which reservation on which day? It%26#39;s enough when you just have three reservations a day to keep track of - imagine multiplying that by three or four!

You can change a reservation. If you are in the park and find you are running behind, call the reservation number, give your confirmation number, and ask if you can have a later seating. If it%26#39;s a really busy time, like around Christmas or Easter, they may tell you no because they are fully booked. So you would either need to be there at your reserved time or cancel the reservation. But most of the rest of the time they try to be accommodating, because as you move your time later, it lets them move other people up a little so you get worked in. If you have to cancel, and they haven%26#39;t asked for a credit card, there is no penalty for cancelling, or even for being a no show (although it is more polite to call and cancel if you know you can%26#39;t make it - it just makes it easier on the restaurant to know how many walk ins they can accept).
