Grand Seas Resort

Has anybody stayed at the Grand Seas Resort? And if so, what has been your experience? My family has been going to Daytona for at least 15 years and our usual stomping grounds are either the Acapulco Inn or Inn on the Beach. We survived Hurricane Charlie at the Acapulco Inn. Both places were in need of updating - and last year we were bumped to the El Caribe (it was okay after changing rooms quite a few times). My brother bought a time-share at the Grand Seas so we all decided to rent rooms there. Have been told that renting condos/timeshares is the way to go. All this talk about TA event is getting me excited about our visit. We are going to be down there for two weeks in August. Hope you all have a great TA event!!

Grand Seas Resort

Thanks stubbytoes, have not stayed there, hopefully someone will have some info for you. Wish you could join us, since you can%26#39;t maybe more folks can meet with you in August. We%26#39;ll let you know how the TA meet goes!

Grand Seas Resort

the only thing i know about this resort for sure is that none of the rooms have balconies.. to me that is a must have in an oceanfront resort..

We toured the Grand Seas when it was in the remodeling stage - there are absolutely no balconies, just a large window looking out to the ocean. The rooms were nicely decorated, but this was about 6 years ago. Check out the postings on the TA overview from people who have actually stayed there - I think that would be a huge help for you! Hope you have a great time in Daytona!

parrethead,

I have to agree with having no balconies. No way would I pay for an oceanfront room that had no balconies. I get too much enjoyment going out on the balconey whenever I feel like it to look at that ocean and feel the breeze. When you stay in an upper room sometimes the pelicans fly by close enough that you can almost touch them, LOL.

I have to agree with punz and parrethead, I love having a balconey, at the Ocean%26#39;s 1 condominium, I have one and I think all of the units have one, and they are great, I can%26#39;t imagine not having one, I love going out in the early morning with some coffee looking at the sun rise and at night going out looking at the sun set it%26#39;s great!

Pibb,

I remember back when we toured the Americano, and the lady was bragging about the fact that they had no balconies - my hubby said ';no balconies? Well we don%26#39;t even need to look at the room';. She couldn%26#39;t believe that we were not interested in a room with no balconies!! We spend most of our time on our balcony, with a cold beer, watching everything up and down the beach - there%26#39;s nothing better!!
