Hi Laob,

We lived in Key West from January 1993 until July 1998, while stationed there in the military. The thing about that is, we never had the money to do the fun things, such as snorkel trips, seaplanes, scuba, etc. Now that we do, that is what we will be concentrating on.

There are a couple of things that we will be doing that we used to do whilst living there:

We will go to El Siboney for fabulous Cuban food. We will go to Finnigans Wake for a Black and Tan (we used to hang out there with our Marine friends) and some good Irish food.

Since you have so little time, I think that one of the locals would be able to help you choose what to do. I haven%26#39;t been back since 1998 and a lot of things have changed.

I would certainly make sure that you see the sunset celebration at Mallery Square.

I hope that helps a little. It%26#39;s been so long since we%26#39;ve been there. PJK and SShip can probably give you better advice!!

I hope you have lots of fun!

~Michelle

p.s., I work in downtown Cleveland and remember Rumrunners, although I%26#39;ve never been to it.

thanks for your reply

Whatever you do during the day, for just two days I would find a place for a late afternoon drink like Kellys (Whitehead / marguerita)), Pepe%26#39;s (Caroline) / Bloody Marys), Sloppy Joe%26#39;s (Duval / Key West Sunset Ale) or Mangoes (other side of Duval / marguerita), then walk for a while, and finally bar-hop at the Bight. Visit Turtle Kraals for a drink and an appitizer, then the Half-Shell Raw bar for the same, then even the Conch Republic Seafood CO. And maybe end up at El Meson de Pepe on Wall Street to listen to the Cuban band. The you%26#39;re on your own as it%26#39;s past my bed-timne.

A second suggestion is either Pepes or B.O.%26#39;s Fishwagon for a regular dinner, eating in the garden at Pepe%26#39;s or at the rail at BO%26#39;s to people-watch.
