Softest Beach

Which is the softest beach, cleanest in St. Pete/Clearwater area?

Softest Beach

In my opinion, Clearwater Beach has better quality sand but a lot more people on it. Fort DeSoto%26#39;s North Beach is simply awesome. Has some shells but I never notice cause there is so much else to look at and do. St. Pete Beach has just as good sand near the hotels as Clearwater does but there are a lot more shells right along the shore/surf line. Not too many to walk barefoot, though. It%26#39;s just not ';soft'; right along there. There are not as many people on the St. Pete Beach as there are on the Clearwater Beach in my opinion. It could be that the SP Beach is longer though (I%26#39;m not sure of that, it just seems longer).

You will enjoy any or all of them though. Have not found a ';bad'; beach here.

Softest Beach

Thanks SSS. Was on Ft Desoto last month. Wasn%26#39;t impressed. Will check out ST. Pete.

I went by Madeira Beach today and the beach down towards Sea Breeze Condominiums was very nice. There was a little sea weed on the beach but it was a very windy day today and the surf is pounding(so windy the gulls all just stood on the beach). It is possible that that will be cleared away as there was not an accumulation.

Just had a thought - have you looked into Siesta Key down by Sarasota? It is supposed to be fantastic. I haven%26#39;t been there but am afraid if you didn%26#39;t like Ft. DeSoto%26#39;s Beach you may not like St.Pete Beach. I%26#39;ve also heard that Destin (further north) is sugar white sand.

The 2 best beaches in Florida, in my opinion,

are Siesta Key beach and the beaches in the Destin area.

Siesta Key is clean and soft.

Everyone loves it here.
