Sanibel to Clearwater

Hi,

I am planning a trip in May for my family (2 adults %26amp; 2 children). I have booked a two night stay in Sanibel and would like to travel north (as far as Clearwater). I have never visited this area before and have no knowledge of suitable ';stopovers';. Can anyone recommend towns to visit? Ideally I am looking for family friendly resorts, great restaurants and of course beautiful beaches!!

Thanks!

Definitely make a point to stop in Siesta Key. Beautiful white sand and very family friendly. Unfortunately there are not many hotels on the key. But there are beach side condos that can be rented by the day that are nice. See siestabeachhouse.com (we%26#39;re staying here in May). Further north from Siesta there is great shopping and dining in St. Armand%26#39;s circle which is near Long Boat Key. All very family friendly, fun and lots to do! I believe in Clearwater there is a great Hilton that has a fantastic outdoor water features i.e. water sports, slide, etc. and offers very nice suites.

Good Luck.

Sarasota is definitely the place you want to stop. There are hotels/resorts on Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key that are kid friendly. Our beaches are some of the best in the state. We have many nice restaurants and places of interest.

What type of resort are you looking for?

I would check on tripadvisor under hotels for recommendations on Siesta Key and Lido Key. You can%26#39;t go wrong.
