travelling to orlando from the uk

Hi

I%26#39;ve been before but since then i foolishly picked up a caution for a minor drugs offence at a bad time in my life. I was wondering if this would cause a problem with entry to the states, ie whether I would now need to apply for a VISA

Thanks in advance

Darren

The US Embassy states that anyone who has been arrested in the past few years must apply for a visa whether they were convicted of a crime or not!!!!

I think a drugs offence would defintaely cause problems especially if its within the last 4 years

I would urge you to contact the US Embassy in London!

Good luck getting through all the red tape!!

hey seagull, dont apply for a visa, if you have a macjine readable passport... which you prob do,, you can enter the u s usin the visa waver system. if you apply for vusa, you will need to go to the embassy in london, lotsa of hassle and red tape... prob wont be allowed in ... isnt worth the hassle.... i would just keep shtum....say nothin.....chances are you will get in the u s anyways.do you really think the u s check all passerngers travellin over there????

sorry just checked my spellin...... sorry guys... doin like 3 diffrent things at once.... hope you understood last post....:O)

Go and get a visa, you will get one. My mate got sent home for a similar thing. Not worth the risk imo.

cheers for that, quite worried about it really, wouldnt want to run the risk of getting sent home

alex-mum no offence to you buts what you gave is crazy advice!!! If he has a machine readable passport, if becomes easy for customs to find out if anyone has a criminal record 8 times out of 10 if can be included onto your passport and would show up as it is scanned!

This guy must apply for a visa imagine if he spent thousands of pounds and got to the US to be turned away because he kept shtum and tried to basically get away with it!

He could be turned away from the US and even be banned from travelling out there again for a length of time for trying to decieve them surley people realise how strict US customs can be!

ANyways im not trying to scare at all seagulldaz if you go through the correct channels and contact the US embassy in London you should have no problems obtaining a visa its just a bit of hassle thats all!

i agree with the rest def get a visa! we got one for hubby (he has a acareless driving charge). somepeople said to us just to keep quite and it woldnt be a prob but i know i would be so worried about getting turned back at immigration that the start of the holiday would just be a major stress fest! go through the red tape get the visa nd have a fab holiday :-)

hey alex-mum to much sherry when you wrote the post,

agree with all the other%26#39;s to spend all that money to get the US to get sent home every one make%26#39;s mistake%26#39;s and the US gov would rather you told them than finding out when you arrive .

remember G.W. Bush and his lapdog tony are bestmate%26#39;s so tony WILL dob you in..............

cheers for that folks, I%26#39;m in the process of contacting the police for my subject access request now, anyone know what the interview is like for a visa and once you have one how long it lasts

Thanks

Darren

hubby needed a visa for a careledd driving charge. His appointment was in london for 9am and he was out by 10.30. lots of people will be given the same app time and they see you on a first come first served basis so get there about half an hour before your appointment. Good luck but am sure you will get it no bother and have a fab holiday :-)
