Can anybody tell me how long it will take to drive from sanford airport to St Pete%26#39;s beach, and best route if possible.

It normally takes me right around 2 hours to get from Orlando to my home in St. Pete. If I were you, I would give yourself 2.5 hours and expect to get there up to half an hour early. If you are going through rush hour you will probably need all of it, possibly more. Whether or not you hit Tampa at rush hour on a weekday is significant. It is a straight shot all the way from Orlando on 4. As 4 goes into Tampa, I get on I-275 which crosses Tampa Bay and swings south down the peninsula St. Pete is on. St. Pete is on the left and the beaches are on the right. Stay on I-275 all the way down and exit where it says ';St. Pete Beach';. I think that that is 54th. That is a toll (54th) but I think it is under a dollar. That roads changes names a couple of times and then dead ends into 19 in front of the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach. 19 runs north/south the length of the barrier island.
