We will be attending a tournament at the Disney Sports complex. I have not heard great things about the all star sports resort where some of the team is staying. We have stayed at the Animal kingdom lodge and loved it . Is there another disney hotel near the wide world of sports that people would recommend?Are the downtown disney hotels convienent to the sports complex?

How about Pop Century?

It%26#39;s one of the closest to the W.W.S., and it%26#39;s also a value resort..much improved from the All-Star resorts.

Pop Century is the closest to WWS. Next would be the Carribean Beach Resort, with the Epcot resorts coming in a close third. It is a little bit of a drive to get to the Downtown Disney hotels. When you exit WWS, if you go straight through the traffic light, you will go up Victory Way past Pop Century to Buena Vista Drive. If you turn right on Buena Vista Drive, you go past the Caribbean Beach resort, past Epcot Center Blvd., past Bonnet Creek Parkway (where Port Orleans is located), past Typhoon Lagoon, past Downtown Disney, and then at the far end of Downtown Disney is Hotel Plaza Blvd. and the Downtown Disney hotels. You can see it is quite a trip.

If you want to stay close, stick with Pop Century. If you feel the budget hotels are a little too basic, the Caribbean Beach resort, a moderate resort, is still close. If you decide you want a deluxe resort, the Boardwalk or Yacht and Beach Club are not much farther than the Caribbean Beach. All of those resorts would be about 10-15 minutes from WWS.
