Does anybody have any first hand knowledge of decent snorkeling areas along the beaches from Clearwater beach down through the St. Pete Beach area? I can%26#39;t find any info anywhere and am beginning to wonder if the underwater areas near shore are barren of marine life like some spots on the Atlantic side (due to the protection of offshore reefs). Heading down that way for a family vacation in June and would like to know if it%26#39;s even worth lugging the masks and fins... Thanks!
Snorkeling?
The area is NOT know for snorkeling, that%26#39;s for sure. Maybe near the big bridge that goes over to Manatee county, the Skyway bridge, you might see a few sharks and barracudas.
