water attractions

With the CarrieB. being out for the summer and the increase of fares on the water taxis, what would be the best option for a family of 4 to see the sights/enjoy a day from the water. We want to get the best bang for our buck. A day cruise would be nice but I have heard that the Discovery is an older ship without modern stablizers. I don%26#39;t want to spend the day with sea sickness. Thanks!

You are talking about two different thing. The Discovery or the other ships that go out either go to a place in the Bahamas, or just stay in the ocean to run the casinos....they are too big to do a river tour.

The CarrieB is small. So is the vessel that will take its place in May....(not that small, but not an ex cruise ship).

The only River cruises available (I think) will be the one that leaves from the Riverwalk area {NOT BEACH PLACE}* (Where the movie theaters, Hooters, Maxes Grille is, or the Jungle Queens%26#39; day cruises, that will still take you to their';jungle Island%26#39;, but no dinner.

The www.watertaxi.com will take you over more river coverage...but it will take an awful long time. Sometimes the captains (or conductors) willgive you info on where you are...not sure how much is offered anymore.

Last year, the lauderduck boat was damaged. I don%26#39;t think the got it back into operation...it left from Marriotts Beach Place.

Thanks Ken. I understand what you mean with the 2 different things. Water taxi%26#39;s for transportation purposes and other boats or ships for entertainment. We are not into casinos but want to see the sights from the water. What is our best option? Jungle Queen seems kind of cheesy from the reviews but hey I usually spend my vacation at Dollywood so I might really like it!
