Universal Express

Hi everyone,

can anyone tell me if you now have to buy (on top of the ticket price)the express pass, I know you did%26#39;ent last year and you dont have to buy the disney fast pass on top of your ticket price, maybe Ive got it wrong, please help.

Universal Express

Yes, you have to buy them at Universal now. They have done away with the Express Pass and you buy the Express Pass Plus booklet- upto $35 per person, depending on time of year you go. One ride per fast pass ticket, but sometimes the staff dont mark the ticket so you can ride again! Disney is still the same.

Universal Express

Thanks for that, is it worth buying it, surely if everyone does the express line will be longer than the ordinary line, I am going in August and wanted to do both parks on seperate days any idea how much that would cost.

Many thanks

Hi Pam,

We just got back from Universal this week. Do you plan to stay at the Universal resort? If you do, then you don%26#39;t need to pay for it as it is already included.

While we were there, there%26#39;s not a big difference whether you have the express pass or not as the line-up is very light. However, if you are traveling in Aug, it might be worth it to paid for the express %26amp; save yourself some time. If you purchase the express pass for both park, you might be able to cover both parks in one day.

Hope this can help you.

Pam - the number of Express Pass booklets is limited, so if you dont get to the park early, they will be gone!

And you will be looking at probably $35 each per day as August is peak time. Check out on the web site www.uescape.com

Many thanks everyone, I spoke to my friend who is a travel agent about to again and she did%26#39;nt know about the express pass.

I think it is a bit much when you have already paid for your tickets, PLEASE Disney dont follow suite.

Thanks again.

Hi Pam

we just got back from 2 week vacation - the first week we were able to buy the fast pass for $21 but the second week it had gone up to $35 - we bought these on two of the days we were there and it really did speed up the wait time although I was disappointed that you could only use them once on each ride - I agree its a lot of extra money on top of the ticket price. Some of the rides we love we would like to do more than once and others we would gladly miss - unfortunately it doesn%26#39;t work like that!

Thankfully, you can still express in the old way at Disney - lets hope it stays like that!

Have a great trip.

Definately spend the extra$$$...money well spent....

To tell you the truth, I think Disney would benefit by doing this. If you stayed at a disney resort, then you get a seperate line. There should be more benefits by staying on the property besides the transportation and one extra hour, which I have found is so crowded, I dont think it is worth it. Maybe I am alone in thinking this, but this is the best thing about staying onsite at Universal and why my kids dont want to go to Disney anymore (only I want to go!), but Universal instead.

One thing to be aware of though is that you are only allowed to use the Express Pass once per ride....if you want to ride again you will have to wait in the regular lineup. When we were there a couple of weeks ago it was only on the ';Revenge of the Mummy'; and ';Men in Black'; that someone actually recorded the pass.
