Disney Quest/Downtown Disney ideas ??

We will be travelling to Disney World may 8 - 15. We have never done Disney Quest and spent a little time in Downtown Disney on our last visit.

Any ideas or suggestions for an 11, 15 and 21 year old doing the Disney Quest thing ? Is it ok to just leave them there for a few hours while my husbnad and I go have a nice dinner ? is it safe ? How long can kids spend there realistically ?

Also could use suggestions for a nice place to have that nice dinner with hubby. We are from Boston so the ';pseudo Disney'; New England thing is out.

My kids and husband loved Disney Quest. I think it would be safe enough to leave younger ones in the care of the 21 year old. some of the most popular rides/games have long lines so they will be busy for a long time. Go have a great dinner and arrange to meet them out front at a certain time. Portobello%26#39;s would be a great place for a romantic dinner.

Oh goodness.... Do not, I repeat do not think that disney quest will keep children of that age entertain for anymore than an hour. I went when I was 15ish 16ish and was bored after an hour. I am 22 and in no way would I ever even think about paying the 30 dollars to go there. Especially when I can pay less to get into pleasure island and go into clubs and drink.

I am not sure if you trust your children or not, or if they are responsible... I think it would be more than fine to leave them all to go off anywhere in disney by themselves. I mean if the kids where 4,5 and 8 maybe I would not leave them there... But your kids are pretty much grown now. yes it is safe. Do i think it is worth the money? um not really especially if they have not added much to it in recent years. I mean if they are really super into tech stuff... it might be fun to them. But it would be iffy otherwise. There is a comedy club at pleasure island. You two and your oldest can enjoy the adult atmosphere. You can take the other kids with you. We have done this and laughed and enjoyed the atmosphere... There are even a few clubs you can go into and dance as a family.

If I were you, go off and have dinner send the kids to go where ever they want. Meet at pleasure island and have fun...

You are staying off site so there are so many other options for you... You can go to unviersal city walk have a nice dinner at Emerils resturant while your kids go to hard rock or NBA city by themselves which would be really fun. Margartiaville is also there and so is a movie theater. The bands are great... I think the atmosphere at city walk appeals to a more teenage/adult crowd. Yes it is safe for you to let your adult child and two teenagers eat at hard rock or anywhere else in that area alone. I actually almost suggest this more, even though pleasure island would be really fun.

PS the lines the lady talked about... not worth waiting in for the ride you get... I walked on the ';make your own roller coasters'; but even that gets boring... The other we waited for were so not worth it... I really do not think it is a good option.

If you have your head dead set on disney, let them wander off by themsevles in the parks or around downtown disney westside.

If not...

The citywalk would be fun. It really is just a fun atmosphere.

Just got back from our family vacation. Disney Quest was a really great 5 hour day for us and our kids (8 and 11) and I saw a lot of older teens coming in late in the afternoon as we were leaving. It%26#39;s open until midnight and I could easily see teenagers hanging out there - there%26#39;s plenty of great stuff (for example, the CyberSpaceMountain where you design and then ride your own rollercoaster). The place is well managed and safe. As for dinner, Emeril%26#39;s at Universal%26#39;s CityWalk was great. You definitely need to call way ahead for a reservation.

I think it depends on your kids interests. Some people prefer Downtown Disney, and some prefer CityWalk. I prefer Downtown Disney.

If your 21 and 15 year olds are responsible, then the three of them should have no problem keeping themselves entertained throughout Downtown Disney while you and your husband have dinner. They would probably rather eat at the McDonalds anyway. So long as they remain at Downtown Disney, they should be very safe. You can have them look up Disney Quest on either Disney%26#39;s website or on allearsnet.com to see if it is something that would interest them. If you are purchasing Disney tickets with the Water Park Fun and More options, Disney Quest is available as one of the options, so you wouldn%26#39;t have to buy a separate ticket. While I think they could keep themselves occupied for a couple hours or so, depending on how busy it is, it is expensive if you are buying the ticket separately and only planning to be there an hour or two. Pleasure Island%26#39;s clubs are also included as one of the options, but there are age restrictions on some of the clubs, so you might have some problems there.

I think the best entertainment option at DTD is Cirque du Soleil. It%26#39;s a wonderful show for the entire family. Maybe it%26#39;s something you could do as a family activity after you%26#39;ve had your wonderful dinner and the kids have had their ';parent free'; time.
