Need Clarification on Ocean Hammock

I have reservations for early July at Ocean Hammock Resort Condos - 2 bdrm for a family of 5. I can%26#39;t tell if this is oceanfront property or not, or affiliated with the often read about ';Lodge';. Can anyone help me? We want to be able to hopefully see the Atlantic, and walk there in the morning. Coming from CA we have no intercoastal waterway, so the terminology of beachfront vs. oceanfront is sometimes confusing.

Is this a good pick for non-golfers? Would we be better staying at Beachers Lodge in St. Augustine? We%26#39;ll be there 4 nights, after 6 in Orlando.

Thanks.

Ocean Hammock is a huge ocean front development. . . your particular unit may or may not have a view of the ocean. Typically the view will be highly touted, if it has one. It%26#39;s best to check with the company who booked your reservations. If you and your family are good California walkers, chances are that you will be within walking distance of the ocean.

There are good restaurants and pools at the resort and the golf is suppose to be great there (although I haven%26#39;t tried the golf). You should be aware that you will absolutely need a car while staying there, in that this development is in a pretty isolated (newly developing) area. St Augustine is less than an hour away and Disney is less than 2 hours away.

The intercostal water way AKA Halifax river is just that. . . near this area it can be a wide and deep water way where boating and fishing can be fun. . . it also has small creeks feeding into it that are filled with marsh lands and mosquitos. . . . depends on where you access the waterway. In any case, it is about a mile or 2 away from the ocean in this area. Ocean Hammocks is closer to the ocean than to the river.

Have Fun!

The lodge at Hammock Beach is a 20 room up-scale beach front golf resort. The Hammock Beach Club is a 16 story tower directly behind the Lodge about 100 yards off the beach. I am a realtor with Ocean Hammock and can offer 3 day 2 night stay packages at the Lodge for only $89.50 per night plus taxes. Weekends are very tough to book. Give me a call. I am a realtor in Palm Coast and actually my office is inside the ';Lodge';. The lodge is a wonderful 20 room upscale oceanfront golf resort with everything needed for a great vacation. It is located only a couple of miles from everything Palm Coast has to offer and mid way between St. Augustine and Daytona. The action of Disney is just over an hour away. This is quite possibaly the last affordable ocean front city in Florida, so if you are interested in property let me know.

Hello-

Almost a year later but I want to update on what a great time we had in beautiful Ocean Hammock on the Palm Coast of Florida. After an awful week in Orlando with traffic and chaos we were thrilled with the peace and beauty of Ocean Hammock. Our 3 kids loved it as well - 2 teens and an 8 y/o. Our ';condo'; was pristine and huge. There was a baby alligator basking in the swamp/pond over the balcony that kept us entertained. The pools were clean and the beaches covered in small broken up shells - very different from our CA beaches. No crowds. We loved it and it made our trip to Florida worthwhile. We took a short drive to St. Augustine and enjoyed the scenery without much traffic. I strongly recommend this area to anybody vacationing in Florida that wants something different.
