Looking to go here in June. Can you usually upgrade to a gulf view room on arrival %26amp; is it OK for kids 13 %26amp; 9

You should talk to the hotel about upgrades.

June is after tourist season so you probably can negotiate.

What are the interests of your children?

Do they enjoy water sports?

The kids just want to be in the water ALL the time!! They love snorkelling and the eldest has just passed her sports diver

You might want to consider staying on Siesta Key.

Lots of water sports, marinas, kayaks, beautiful beaches and kid friendly.

There are many options for lodging right on the beach.

That would be my choice.

There are many wonderful condos that you could rent in June.

I would also suggest you read the trip advisor hotel suggestions for the area.

When I have more information, I can give you some ideas.

Hi %26amp; thanks for your lovely replies. We have booked in at the Banana Bay at Siesta Key after reading the great reviews.

Any suggestions on what we must see %26amp; do? Do you know any good diving/snorkelling locations?

There are many varied things to see and do in the Sarasota area.

How long will you be staying? That will determine my list. :-)

Does your family enjoy nature?

Since you mentioned water, your children might enjoy visiting Mote Marine and Aquarium. It is a wonderful facility that offers a close up view of sea life. They also have a guided boat tour that is nice.

Many of the dive shops run charters to inshore and offshore sites. You can check with Dolphin Dive Center..(941)-924-2785.

They are not far from Siesta Key.

St. Armands Circle on Lido Key is an upscale shopping area with side walk cafes.
