Too young for disney?

My husband and I are considering a trip to disney next year, our daughter will be 3 by then. I have been before, but my husband has not and thinks she might be too young to enjoy/remember it. Any advice or tips from others who%26#39;ve taken kids this young would be appreciated!

Too young for disney?

Definitely not too young. She will have a ball. She will definitely like Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom for sure, plus if you can afford to do so, the character meals are great for that age group.

Just remember to go at her pace and take afternoon breaks to keep her from wearing out so much. With her being pre-school aged, I%26#39;d suggest you go ';off season'; during a cooler part of the year; the heat can really be a drain in the summer months. October or November before U.S. Thanksgiving is a great time.

Happy Planning!!

Too young for disney?

Definitely not too young unless this is going to be your one and only trip ever to Disney, then I would say maybe to wait until she%26#39;s 5.

My kids are 3 %26amp; 5 and we%26#39;ve been going every year since the oldest was 1 1/2. He still remembers things that happened only on that trip. We always have had a great time. This past November we did a land/sea package. I recommend staying on site at that age so it%26#39;s easy to return back to the hotel for a break and then go back in a couple hours. Also, if possible when you go try not to go during peak times such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break time especially the pre and post week of easter or summer months when school is out. I stay away from summer months because of the heat/humidity factor also. I would say for next year early-mid March or end of April early May would be my choice of times to go. We enjoyed our November trip this last time, but being in a colder climate I always like looking forward to a treat after the cold.

yes agree with above post, as i took my daughter when she was just 5, now almost 16 she does not remember her first trip to disney (shame)

Hello drewsmommy,

She may not remember it but I can guarantee she will have alot of fun while she is there! We have been taking our now 18 year old to Disney since he was 2 and he still loves it. Go and enjoy, guaranteed you%26#39;ll be taking her back again someday for some more Disney memories!

I took my daughter when she was 3 and a couple months.. she%26#39;s 6 now and still has memories of the trip. She had a great time on the rides and meeting all of the characters. She ENJOYED herself, and so did we! Definately go for it!

I took my daughter only to AK at age 9 months and she has tons of pictures that we still go through (went through last night) until this day, I took her last year at age 5 (but she passed as 3 1/2 b/c she%26#39;s tiny) and she had a blast, and we are going again in 4 months (she will be 6 on Friday)...so no any age is never to young...from in the womb to 100 years old. Being that it will be your husband%26#39;s first time, everyone is a kid at disney, so is it fair to say he might act too young to attend??? LOL, you guys will enjoy yourselves...but my 4 months are coming along too slow.

happy trails

We have taken our son 4 times in the past 14 months. He is almost 3. He LOVES it!!! Your daughter is not to young. JUst have a plan, get there when it opens, use fast pass, and plan for an afternoon break.

She is definately not to young to enjoy it. However, she will probably not remember for more than a couple years after you go. Taking plenty of pictures will help her to know she went. And the memories you will have will be priceless.

We%26#39;ve taken a couple of our grandchildren when they were three going on four. Last year was our youngest grandaughters turn, she is still talking about it. We had her to stop for a couple of days at Christmas, she kept telling us that she had her holiday bag with her [ bought a Tinkerbell rucksack thingy last year ] thought nothing of it untill i went into it when looking for something. She had some knickers and a couple of T Shirts/ summer vests. When i asked her about them, she said her mam was having a holiday with Nana for a few days, so she had put her favourite things into her holiday bag ready for her Disney holiday [ so close to tears-me] So believe me, if it%26#39;s special enough-they won%26#39;t forget anything, all of them talk about their holidays constantly[ think they%26#39;re angling for another actually.
