Hi planning on hedding to orlando for my honeymoon and may be miami. I know it will be very hot in aug. And people have talked about rain.
How much rain are we talking? One day a week? Every day for 30 mins? Or two full weeks?
Please help asap!!!!!!!! Thank you!
How much rain is there in aug?
Typcally, in August, you%26#39;ll have rain almost every day possible, but the rain only last 15 to 30 minutes at a time maybe once or twice in the afternoon/early evening hours; not any all day rains unless there%26#39;s a tropical storm or hurricane nearby the state.
With those tropical storms, all bets are off and rain will be constant and all-day in many cases. Several hurricanes and tropical storms have come through in August before as well, so its a distinct possibility.

. . . and generally it is in the afternoon when you are begging for rest from the heat. Don%26#39;t worry it almost never lasts long enough to be a bother. Tuck a light poncho in your bag and be ready for it.
Remember, too, that our ground here is sand and limestone, for the most part -- we%26#39;ve had (by the rain gauge in my driveway) nearly seven inches in the last three days, but nary a puddle to be found.
Yes, it rains nearly every day.
Yes, you will be gobsmacked at least once by the sheer volume of rain falling and the spectacular thunder and lightning.
Yes, it comes at the most miserably hot part of the day.
It doesn%26#39;t last long.
The rain drains away quickly.
It all leaves the evenings comfortable and pleasant.
Have a great trip.
BTW, tropical storms are the exception, and not the rule. Can%26#39;t guarantee it won%26#39;t happen, but I wouldn%26#39;t cancel my honeymoon because it might.
sunshine917 is it generally hotter your way than say orlando or miami? and do you get more sun than orlando?????
The interesting thing here in Florida is when it rains, it usually is still bright outside. You will have a dark storm cloud, and see blue sky a mile away. It can actually rain in one area, and be clear across the road. Be aware, lightning is common. When you here thunder, go inside. Lightning is not far behind.
hi macysnowstorm,
i have been when it has rained every afternoon and some times quite hard in the evenings and all days and yes you can loss quite a bit of your holiday if you dont make plans around the rain, i would say if it is raining a lor than go to the malls or do indoor stuff instead which is why the idea of a indoor pool in some of the hotesl appeal to me know
we have also lost a lot of days when it has rained all day, i remember 2 years age when we drove down to busch gardens and when we got there it was nice and cool as it had rained just before us and we thought that it was the last of the rain what a mistake we just managed to go on the safari train and than the heavens opened and they closed the ridas and when we asked the manger he said that it was unlikely that it would stop raining and gave us a free entry for next time, we went and after that we always check the wearther and if it looks like rain all day we go to the malls instead because the parks are no good when the heavens open and i find that there are not many places to shelter in and it can be a bit dangerous just running around in the rain looking for shelter

hi macysnowstorm,
i forgot to say that if you are renting a house with a pool it is a good idea to ask the company if it is safe to swim when it rains i dont so bur just ask before going in
pam
now im worried!! Is there any where i can look up the weather in advance? WE leave in 4 weeks? Thank you for your help so far.
It does not bother me o my family when it rains,
Walk out in the rain, enjoy the cool air that it brings and also you find that the parks are empty as most are covering inside, so it is a great time to move from ride to ride or attraction to attraction,
The Brits amongst us will know that a little rain is fine and it really is only a quick shower, hard and fast but nothing to worry about.
Mick
