Can someone please recommend a good hotel to stay at in Key West for a group of single gals looking to party at the end of September?

Thanks!!

How much do you think you can spend on a room per night?

How many rooms will you need?

How many nights?

And how will you get to Key West? (i.e., will you have a car?)

PJK -

Good questions, I always wonder how people figure that this forum can magically plan their vacations for them without any of this important information.

PS - thanks for the postcard from Spain.

I don%26#39;t want to spend more than $250 per night.

I will be flying in to Florida. I%26#39;m still deciding whether I should fly in to Miami and rent a car of if I should fly to Key West. Any suggestions on that? Will I need a car to get around in Key West or can I just cab it or walk?

We will be there for 3 nights (Thursday - Sunday).

If you have never done the drive from Miami to KW, I suggest you do it just to see it. You shouldn%26#39;t need a car while in KW. The island is only four miles long and about a mile wide. You can rent a bike, a moped, or cab as needed. And when all else fails, there is always the Duval crawl. Have fun and take lots of pictures.

I have to disagree with 0007(sorry 0007). If your only going to have 3 nites fly straight to KW. I don%26#39;t think the drive is that big of a deal, especially if it would limit your time in KW. You will not need a car in KW. For lodging, the big issue is a hotel vs. a B%26amp;B. If you prefer a hotel I would recommend the Pier House.

For $250 per night in September, you have lots of options. I would definitely stay in Old Town. There is no need for a car while in Key West, but what kind of price difference are you looking at if you fly directly into Key West?

If you%26#39;re going to get into MIA or FLL early on Thursday, economics would dictate a shared rental car rather than four(?) plane tickets to EYW. You would also get to enjoy that ride down through the Keys, maybe get a full size convertible. The downside of that is that you won%26#39;t be needing that car in Key West, (especially if you stay in Old Town), and parking and traffic are both a real drag. If money isn%26#39;t much of an object, flying all the way to KW is probably best for so short a stay. We%26#39;ve driven and flown in, and liked both for different reasons.

As for accomodations, that depends on whether you like more conventional hotels or older inns/B%26amp;B%26#39;s. Maybe you could take a look at some of the more highly rated ones in the TA hotels section, and bring some of your possible choices back to this forum for review.

If that is your budget. I would get a jr suite at the Crowne Plaza. Its next to margaritaville, directly on duval, has a great pool and sunning area, near all the shopping, and well lit at night... no problem walking there at 4 in the morning. A jr suite will hold five girls easily although we put three girls in the king size bed... there is a small mirror in the bathroom, a sink mirror, a full length one and two that hang on the wall. AKA enough for everyone to get ready at the same time... you can take the mirrors off the wall sit on the floor and striaghten your hair...

you might also want to get a condo... www.centercourtkw.com has some. They are half way down duval go north towards the clubs go south towards the beach.

Crowne plaza is the best bet ';the top'; has the best view in town at sunset.

The room also has a mini fridge and the table right next to it makes a great bar. If you want some girls suggestions i will be happy to give you tips on bars and resturants. 9 of us went during spring break. Had a blast.

Fly!!!! You can get there from FL for about $150. The drive is too long and you should be drinking instead! Try Truman Annex for rooms. They have two bed/2bath townhomes for under $250 and the local is great. Center Court also has places that are cheap and decent (according to everyone on the forum).
