Visiting Disney Resorts-non-guests?

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to visit the Disney properties. We are not staying at Disney because we have a timeshare to use nearby. I would like to check out some of the hotels. Is it acceptable to stop by and walk around?

You certainly can visit Disney resorts with no trouble.

When you get to Disney property, simply follow the signs to the resort of your choice and once there, follow the signs to the visitor parking or security booth.

Tell the parking lot attendent you want to visit the resort for a couple of hours, and they should give you a visitor%26#39;s parking pass to put in your windshield.

This is a common event, because so many people eat dinner at the various resort restaurants.

If you aren%26#39;t driving, simply find a way to Downtown Disney and catch a bus to the resort of your choice from there. These will probably be the least crowded of the resort busses.

Thank you. That is helpful. Any suggestions which might be fun to visit?

We like going to visit the Boardwalk. It has a fun carnival like atmosphere. Disney%26#39;s Animal Kingdom Lodge is also fun to visit. You can walk through the hotel to the Savannah and check out the Animals..

Hello parisinthefall,

Definitely visit the Yacht and Beach Club and then enjoy a stroll along the Boardwalk that connects to the Boardwalk resort, it%26#39;s lovely especially in the evening. You can also catch a glimpse of some of the Illuminations fireworks from the bridge. This location is a 5 minute walk from Epcot and a quick boat ride to MGM Studios. Enjoy one of the restaurants in the Yacht and Beach Club or on the Boardwalk. There is a Clam Bake buffet every night at the Yacht and Beach Club that also pleases the non seafood eaters in our family. Or you can enjoy a meal at the ESPN Club or Big River Brewing company on the Boardwalk.

Go to the Grand Floridian shortly before the fireworks and get a drink at Narcoosees. You%26#39;ll have a great view of ';Wishes'; from their outside deck and the music is piped in. Or you can watch the show from the beach.

We have just returned from staying at the CBR and on our last day we decided to visit some of the other disney hotels, the first one we went to was Corranado Springs we went to the security booth and said we wanted to have a look around and we had to show photo id, the second one we went to was Port Orleans French Quarter and security just waved us through, I really liked the look of this one, we took the river boat from the French Quarter down to Downtown Disney and had a drink then we caught the boat back, and the third hotel we went to was Pop Century again we had to show id.

We didn%26#39;t have any problems getting into the other hotels just make sure you have got id on you.

Can anyone tell me about security to enter the rooms? My wife and boys will be at Disney for a week. I might be able to stop in and join them for 2 nights. Because they are on a package deal, there is some hassle with trying to ';legally'; check me into the same room because ';everyone must be on the same package rate'; or something like that.

If I have park tickets for my two days, will I be able to come and go with my family and ';sneak'; into their room for a couple of nights, or will i need to swipe in or pass security or something?

Thanks for any insight!

There are not guards at the elevator checking hotel guest id%26#39;s. The only concern I would have is if the maid reported you. I frequently go to Disney with one of my two kids. I book a room for two on Friday and then my husband joins us with the other kid for Sat night. We have never had a problem doing this.

As far as the park tickets, they now make you stick your pass and two fingers into this machine. I don%26#39;t have a clue what its for, but it may be for identification of using Disney passes for the parks.

Most hotels welcome you --Animal kingdom they ask if you are having dinner. there.. Take the disney bus --they dont check anything.. Fort Wilderness, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, boardwalk hotels, Beach and Yatch clubs are great to see.
