Beachplace Towers would be perfect, especially for a week-long stay. The main part of the beach as well shopping and a number of different restaurants and bars are in the same complex (Beachplace). They will want to make the trip out to Las Olas area (short taxi) as the complex can get old pretty quick and there are not many quality restaurants on that portion of the beach.

I%26#39;m going next month for the first time and staying at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Beach. It%26#39;s a beachfront hotel. I called the toll-free numer and received the AAA rate of $110/night for an oceanview room, buffet breakfast for two, two water taxi passes and free parking for the rental car. I am going with my family for a total of three.

Reviews on Trip Advisor.com indicate this to be a nice regular hotel. It is a Sheraton with Sweet Sleeper beds, beach location, etc. Don%26#39;t know that it is real close to a lot of restaurants, but I believe a short taxi ride will get you to most places. And with the water taxi passes, I believe will give us access to most places downtown or close to them.

I generally go to Miami and wanted to try Ft Lauderdale. I received free brochures and coupons from sunny.org. You might try that website for some good general info.

By the way, Lulu replied on another post of mine, that the water taxi service is limited. So if you are planning on utilizing the water taxi, be sure to check the route.
