We have used vrbo.com before and had great luck. I am sure it depends on the owner but we have never had a problem. We are renting a unit at Seychelles 7/23-7/29 and saved ALOT of money. We got the unit for $665 total! Resort quest wanted $1400. The owner sent us a confirmation # and we check in on site.

We have always rented thru private owners and have been lucky too.

This unit was just recently finished. I must have inquired the first day he listed it. He did not even have pictures yet. He said his wife was on her way home from the condo with pictures.

I think that maybe the owners are figuring that everyone has already made reservations and they are discounting them to try to get some last minute business to at least get some $$$ for this season. I am sure that next year I will not be able to get this kind of deal at Seychelles!

I just checked the listing out again and now he raised the price to $100 a night (we got it for $75) still a good deal though

That is an awesome deal. I just looked at their other rental vrbo 83529 located at Grandview East at Long Beach 3 bedroom 2 bath $125 a night for the rest of the year. If anyone is looking to go in August that is another great deal. Looks like the rest of the year is pretty full.
