Morning Extra Magic Hour Question

I read that Disney bus transportation for morning EMH begins at about 7:30 if the EMH begins at 8:00 (seems to be the typical beginning time anyway).

If, however, you%26#39;d prefer to drive to the park from your resort, what time do the parking lots open on the EMH days for Disney resort guests?

Is there any time advantage to taking Disney busses over driving (I just think driving would get you there faster)?

Morning Extra Magic Hour Question

If you are going to MagicKingdom, you should definitely take the Disney bus. It is much more convenient and a lot faster. If you drive to MK, you would get stuck waiting to get on the monorail.

You can drive to the other parks early. I think the Disney buses start 45-min. before the parks open. Very convenient to take the buses!!!

Morning Extra Magic Hour Question

Take the busses. They drop you off at the front gate of the park. The busses run like clock work. And it is nice to be able to sit back and relax let someone else mess with traffic. When closing you will be really glad to wait for a bus instead of fighting the parking lots.

The general rule is one hour before park opening the transportation begins

Well, according to the ';allears'; site, bus services begins for the morning EMH only 30 minutes before opening time, not an hour.

We may or may not take advantage of the bus service, but because of the sheer number of people who will be taking the busses from our resort (we%26#39;re staying at P.O.R), and possible crowded conditions on the busses, I may elect to drive to the parks instead to save time.

Unless I know exactly when the parking lots open for the EMH, however, I won%26#39;t know if this is a good idea for saving time or not. So, that%26#39;s why I need to know what time the parking lots open for the morning EMH guests.

Just wondering if any of the summertime visitors who are back can contribute some advise to this question.

We%26#39;re staying at P.O.R. in September, but need to know what time the earliest busses run as well as what time the parking lots open for the morning EMH.

I%26#39;ve gone through the parking gates as early as 7:00am. Actually, if it%26#39;s the MK parking gates, they have one open all night (staffed by security), because of needing access to the MK hotels. I don%26#39;t know if they would chase you down if you turned left instead of right after you went through the gates, but I didn%26#39;t have any trouble going into the parking lot at 7:00am. For the MK, though, you really are better off taking the bus, because of the hassle of parking, going to the TTC, and then getting either the monorail or ferry to the park. Do you have a special reason for needing the car with you? I know it can be a bit of a mad rush at the end of the night getting back to the resort by bus, but any other time of day, it%26#39;s quite easy.

Yes, the ';mad rush'; at the end of the night is what I%26#39;m trying to avoid by driving to the park instead of riding the busses, especially at M.K. after Wishes ends.

I%26#39;ve been reading about what a nightmare the busses are back to P.O.R. when the park closes (Wishes will be closing the park in Sept.), so I was trying to alleviate this problem to get us back to the room faster.

If we arrive at the parking lots early enough (and I usually do), we always manage to get ';front row parking'; right in front of the TTC, so our exit is usually pretty fast after riding the monorail or ferryboat back over from M.K.

Kat

I stayed at the PO Riverside last August/Septmeber and we got the morning bus for the early morning extra hour, I am not certain of the time but I do know we got there in planety of time and were one of the first into the Magic Kingdom.

we checked with the hotel staff when we checked in for the times of morning buses etc

Mick

Thanks, Mick.

Have you by chance booked through AAA or are you a member? AAA gives preferred parking passes that are right next to the disabled parking. I think it is the blue line. This brings you right up to the front of the parking. Believe it or not, as Florida residents, we still book through AAA so we can utilize the parking passes.
