Rental car vs. Magical Express

Will be flying into Orlando International , not sure wether to rent car or utilize free bus service. Concern is early flight 925am on departure. Is bus on time, easy to use, or more hassel than it%26#39;s worth? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The magical Express is wonderful. We took it from the airport and back again and had no problems. The hotel will have all your info and be sure to send you a notice on your hotel door advising you as to the time you must be at the front of your hotel to catch the bus back to the airport. It is nice because you don%26#39;t have to pay tolls, parking, someone else does the driving and you ge to relax. The Disney buses to and from the parks are great as well. I never waited more then a few minutes anytime I used them this past February.

Magical Express is great....you will save a lot of money with no rental car....the kids will love the bus!!

It did not work out very well for us, one day we waited 45 for a bus from MK back to the hotel (POR)

We had a car and after that used it to get to the rest of the parks. It only took us 15 min from the room to being parked at AK.

According to guides it could take 3X that long on the buses.

One of my favorite topics. Used Disney transportation on one visit and that was enough for me. A rental car is on of the biggest enhancements you can make to your visit. Aside from getting you to the parks and more importantly home quickly, you can also now get to travel to other resorts without having to change busses and all the waiting that entails. Everyone that says they had no wait for the bus must be the luckiest people in the World, to coin a phrase. Suck it up and rent a car and you can smugly walk by all the sweating masses at the bus stop, crank up the a.c. in your car and be well on your way to another magical day!

We had a good experience with Magical Express and we also had a 9:00 a.m. flight. Everything ran smoothly. In my opinion there isn%26#39;t any reason to rent a car when staying on Disney property unless however your planning on traveling outside Disney.

We have used DME twice without a problem either time. It is nice to be able to check your luggage and get your boarding passes (on certain airlines) right from the hotel lobby. You might be able to check everything the night before so that you just have to take your carry-on with you in the morning. Here is a link with good info:

car v express really depends entirely on what your plans are, I have always rented a car mainly because if we dont it limits our freedom to come and go as we please to places like Winter Park, and Celebration, which I would recommend to anyone for a day away from the parks, particularly the Boston Town Tavern in celebration for lunch and dinner, and Winter Park is just so relaxing !

Anyway, slightly straying from the point, I%26#39;m convinced that you will be able to do everything you want without a car if you are staying on property all the time, it really is personal choice.

Just a point but a lot of people seem to give the transport service a hard time, I%26#39;d be interested to know when they travelled because my experience has always been positive but I%26#39;ve usualy been october / november time.

First of all I don%26#39;t want any more people handling my bags than absolutely necessary. We always go in October, and if you would like to go from your hotel to the Polynesian, for example, you %26#39;d better pack a sandwich if using the bus system. If you are not staying at a monorail resort a car is the BEST investment you can make. I couldn%26#39;t possibly imagine using Disney Transportation during the summer months. Some of the posters must have a very high pain threshold.

I would rent a car.. After a long day waiting on a bus is the last thing you want only to find your might be very well cramped with other not so happy people. I rent a car just for that reason.
