Planning it all out?

Hi Disney Experts! My boyfriend and I are going to Disney together June 3rd (it can%26#39;t come fast enough!!) I have been reading everyone%26#39;s posts and heard some fantastic tips! My one concern is the planning in advance. We definitely plan on figuring out which park we will hit each day for the week..but it seems that everyone else worked out a lot more details. We were hoping to go there with a general idea of where we wanted to go each day and kinda go with the flow with dinner and if we changed our minds. Is this not the way to go? These posts have me kind of worried that if I don%26#39;t plan every hour I will miss out or starve...any thoughts?

Thanks everyone!

Planning it all out?

you%26#39;re definitely not going to starve. sure it%26#39;s a good idea to make a reservation for dinner at each park each day, and while my wife and i usually do this, we always end up eating some place different! we%26#39;ve always had luck with just walking up to a restaurant and waiting; however, we%26#39;ve never gone in the busy summer months - so it may be a different situation. also, it%26#39;s more fun to just go with the flow and not plan things out toooo much.

Planning it all out?

Please don%26#39;t worry yourself to death with details. Each day will dictate itself when you get there. Just have a general plan in mind and go with the flow.

If you have a specific place for dinner in mind on a specific day, go ahead and make reservations, however. During the time you%26#39;re going, you%26#39;ll have lots of company, and walk-up dinner seating will be a scarce thing.

If, however, you would be content with counter service eating (there are some really good ones), wing it and eat when and where you want.

thanks everyone for your advice. You reassured me that there should be some relaxation to your vacation. I look fwd to going and will keep all of your tips in mind.. where would I be without this website?!?!? :O)

If you want to eat on Disney grounds and don%26#39;t care of where you eat or at what time then you don%26#39;t need to make reservations.

If you really want to eat at a certain place or around certain times, I highly recommend making reservations.

Since it%26#39;s just you and your boyfriend it might work out okay not to make reservations. When you throw in hungry kids and a hungry husband in the mix it can get ugly if you don%26#39;t have reservations in advance.

Thanks for the tip! I am not so much worried about eating (I eat anytime anywhere) as I am with having all the parks and entertainment planned out. I am usually a by the book- scheduled person...so on vacation, I truly love to take it a little easier. Sure have a day-by-day game plan.....but just kinda roll with the punches. Anyone with me?

Go for it!

totally with you. one day we had planned on going to Magic Kingdom, but when we got there it was unbelievably packed, so (thanks to a hopper pass) we scooted over to Epcot, which wasn%26#39;t crowded at all. we tried MK two days later and there was hardly anyone...so just be prepared for anything. on a different trip we went to epcot and had planned on doing future world first and the world second...but it was so packed up front we decided to save it for last and went drinking in France instead. as we worked our way back to the front, it was not crowded any more. so going with the flow (or in my case away from the flow) is the way to go! at epcot, people tend to go to mission space or test track right away, so if it%26#39;s crowded, then you just get a fastpass and can come back later and just walk up to the front.

vacation-worthy,

During busy seasons I always recommend making Disney table restaurant reservations in advance if it%26#39;s important to you to eat one descent meal for the day and don%26#39;t want to wait in long counter service lines twice in one day in the hot sticky weather. Now, you may be lucky and manage to walk up and get a table. But I say better safe than sorry, make the table reservations, you don%26#39;t have to stick with them it%26#39;s just nice to know you have them. During our last visit every day was booked for the decent table service restaurants and were very glad we made advance reservations. 407-WDW-DINE. And for a list of restaurants and menu%26#39;s go to www.allearsnet.com Have a great time!

Early June shouldn%26#39;t be too crowded so that makes it a little easier to go with the flow. Can you get an Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World? They%26#39;re available at bookstores, on amazon, or you might find one used on eBay - go for a recent one though. These have touring plans in the back that are designed to help you avoid the crowds so you don%26#39;t just spend the whole time in lines. Just cross a line through anything you aren%26#39;t interested in and follow the recommended order. This isn%26#39;t a nazi plan that dictates when you may or may not go to the bathroom - it%26#39;s just pointing you away from the masses a little so that you get the most from your time %26amp; money.

Are you going to Epcot? You will enjoy the World Showcase so much more if you keep an eye on the entertainment schedule that they provide. Otherwise, the World Showcase can just feel like a bunch of gift shops. You may want to catch ';Off Kilter'; in Canada - Bagpipe rock music, an Epcot favorite. The World Showcase Players are fun in UK %26amp; Italy.
