We are haeding down July 29 and staying at GULFVIEW CONDOS. I%26#39;d like to have some beach photos taken of my children but don%26#39;t want to pay the fees associated with photographers%26#39; sessions. I%26#39;ll just bring my own digital camera and a tripod.
Can anyone recommend a nice, easily accessible spot where I can pose my kids near dunes with sea oats or other sea grasses? Most of the areas I%26#39;ve seen in the past are fenced off and I do NOT want to trespass.
TIA.
Beach/dune photo spots
I have a friend that is a professional photographer here in Arkansas, but he drives down every year to take pics there. He always takes some great ones at the Henderson State Park Beach there in Destin. I just took some of my family there and just on the beach in front of our condo. They turned out great. Sunset is the best time to take them.
Hope to help!
Beach/dune photo spots
I would also second Henderson Beach at sunset or early in the morning. Any picture of the beach in Destin is a great one though.
Our family stayed at Gulfview II over Spring Break this year and
I took some great pictures of my teenage daughters. Across from
the Gulfview II is a wooden stairway down to the beach, I had my daughters sit and stand by the railing with the beach and water in the background. There are dunes with sea grass next to the steps as well, which is a perfect setting. We took the pictures in the evening when the sun was down and the beach wasn%26#39;t crowded.
We%26#39;ve been going to Destin for a few years and I%26#39;ve looked into hiring a professional photographer several times, but can%26#39;t bring myself to pay the enormous sitting fee.

We were in the Destin area in May(actually Blue Mtn. Beach) and went to Grayton Beach state Park and parked in the parking area and took a trail to a great picture area that had trees with a bench to sit and pose on.If you continue on the trail just past that area you will see where others have gone up to a point that is beautiful with the ocean and sea oates behind you, makes a beautiful picture.Other people told us if you continue on around you can get some great sunset pics. of the beach. We did not have enough time as it was getting late but the ones we took in the trees and on the overlook turned out really good for amatuers.I am like you on the professional photos,can%26#39;t make myself spend that much.I would rather spend it on staying another day or two.The beach area there used to be where we always went to take our pics. but with last years storms the dunes had all been replanted and we did not want to trample.
I am sure you will find many lovely spots to take the photos, but remember it is illegal to climb, walk, etc on the dunes. Please do not disturb the sea oats.
